Calgary Airport Transfer Between Concourses
All the information featured on this page was compiled and written by David Enrich, a renowned expert in aviation and airport guides since 1999.
Passengers traveling through Calgary International Airport will find several convenient ways to move between concourses and terminal areas. Although YYC operates within a single terminal complex, the concourses are spread out, so the airport provides multiple connection options to help passengers transfer efficiently between domestic and international flights.
These options include pedestrian walkways, moving walkways, and the YYC Link Passenger Shuttle, all located within the airport’s secure area after security screening.
If you have a tight connection between domestic and international flights, use the YYC Link shuttle instead of walking, especially when transferring between the farthest concourses.
Connections Corridor
The Connections Corridor is the main passageway that links the secure areas of the airport’s concourses. It allows passengers to transfer between domestic, U.S., and international flights without leaving the security area.
This corridor is designed to make connections easier and includes several transportation options to help travelers move quickly across the terminal.
Transportation options inside the corridor
Passengers can choose between three ways to move through the Connections Corridor:
- Moving walkways – ideal for covering longer distances quickly
- Pedestrian walkways – standard walking routes connecting the concourses
- YYC Link Passenger Shuttle – a free electric shuttle service
Walking between the farthest gates may take 10–15 minutes, so allow extra time if you are transferring flights during busy travel periods.
YYC LINK Passenger Shuttle
The YYC LINK Passenger Shuttle is a free shuttle service operating inside the secure area of the terminal. It provides fast transportation between the airport’s concourses for passengers with connecting flights.
This shuttle service is particularly useful for travelers with reduced mobility, heavy luggage, or tight connection times.
Key features
- Free transportation for all passengers
- Wheelchair accessible vehicles
- Operates inside the secure terminal area
- Connects the main concourses of the airport
Shuttle stations
There are four shuttle stations located along the terminal between:
- Concourse A
- Concourse B
- Concourse C
- Concourses D and E (International Terminal)
The shuttle continuously circulates between these stations throughout the day.
The YYC Link shuttle is especially useful when transferring between domestic concourses (A/B/C) and the international terminal (D/E), which are located at opposite ends of the airport.
Walking Between Concourses
Many passengers choose to walk between gates, as the airport has wide corridors and clear signage.
Walking routes include:
- Moving walkways to speed up travel between gates
- Direct pedestrian paths linking each concourse
- Easy connections between domestic and international areas
Most connections can be completed in 10–15 minutes depending on gate location.
Always check the airport monitors after landing, as gates sometimes change and walking distances may vary depending on the concourse assigned.
Accessibility Services
All transfer options inside the airport are designed to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility.
Accessibility features include:
- Wheelchair accessible YYC Link shuttle
- Elevators and ramps throughout the terminal
- Assistance services provided by airlines
- Wide walkways and barrier-free corridors
Passengers requiring assistance should inform their airline before arrival or during check-in.
